(Santa Barbara, California) Oil still bubbles up in Santa Barbara channel at rate of 4,000 gallon daily. Govt. officials held mtgs. on college campus to discover ways to stop oil pollution. Told not to investigate causes of this oil leak. [Chairperson Dr. John CALHOUN - reports not here to investigate Santa Barbara incident. What they find here could help somewhere else.] "Get Oil Out" group (GOO) wants drilling out for good. [Protest Leader Alvin C. WEINGAND - believes government agencies trying to draw off public indignation.] Cleaning process of beaches done mainly by hand. No one knows best method.
