(Studio) Navy inquiry board continues investigation of Pueblo seizure by North Korea.
REPORTER: Chet Huntley
(Coronado, California) Crewmen say they wanted United States to retaliate against their seizure. Radioman Lee Hayes tried to suggest atomic bomb be dropped on Korea in letter home. Qtrmaster. Charles Law says crew waited for United States to punish barbarians. They were told they would be killed if United States retaliated. Law felt their violation of military code of conduct was justified since there was no retaliation. Says tried to ridicule Koreans and let world know confessions were fake. Crew punished for sending defiant photograph to American newspapers. Law refused to confess. Law praises Commander Lloyd Bucher.
