(Studio) United States met with North Korea as requested.
REPORTER: David Brinkley
(Panmunjom, Korea) Communist General Yi enters hall 1st, followed by United States spokesperson Major General James Knapp. Yi doesn't talk of plane, but of DMZ (demilitarized zone) violations by US. [KNAPP - says plane didn't enter North Korean airspace. Had no right to interfere with it. Engaged in legitimate reconnaissance.] Yi tries to probe details of plane. United States walks out. North Koreans, surprised, walk out too.
