(Studio) President Ford's campaign committee claims enough votes to win nomination on 1st ballot.
REPORTER: Harry Reasoner

(DC) [Ford Committee James BAKER - says Ford campaign counts 1135 delegates for Ford.] Hawaii Senator Hiram Fong gave 15 votes to Ford; Hawaii delegates will still go to convention uncommitted. [BAKER - says doubts delegates will change their votes after they've taken public positions.] Ford delegate searchers told not to take anything for granted.
