(Studio) Ford trip to Mississippi, planned for this week, now more important than ever.

(Jackson, Mississippi) President Ford comes to Jackson to solicit Mississippi delegation's 30 uncommitted votes at Republican national convention [Alternate del. Veronica ROSS - says Ford says he'll hear from each alternate and delegate to get opinions on running mate.] Reagan choice of Richard Schweiker for Vice President has shaken Reagan Mississippi support but most delegates not yet ready to commit selves. [Del. Bill PATRICK - says he's uncommitted and will remain so until Kansas City conv.] Reagan has been calling delegates to reassure them; will visit Mississippi with Schweiker next Wednesday
