(Studio) Charles Evers inaugurated 1st black mayor of Fayette, Mississippi since Reconstruction.

(Fayette, Mississippi) Parade shown. Cleveland mayor Carl Stokes, former Attorney General Ramsey Clark, and opera singer Leontyne Price there. Evers sworn in by Willie Thompson, Justice of Peace. [EVERS - repeats oath. No more hate taught in town and no more guns and disrespect.] All but 1 of white city employees quit; few went to inauguration.
