(Studio) President Nixon cancels November and December draft calls. October call of 29,000 to be stretched over 3 mos. Reduction due to men reduced in Vietnam. President wants lottery draft. He'll make changes without Congress if they don't act.

(DC) [President NIXON - says November and December draft to be canceled. 60,000 pullout makes this possible.] [Defense Secretary Melvin LAIRD - says moves made to remove draft inequities. 19-yr. old to know before he's 20 whether he'll serve.]
