(Studio) AEC to proceed with Colorado underground nuclear blast to release natural gas, despite opposition.

(Grand Valley, Colorado) Explosion could triple United States gas reserves if it works. Project Rulison planned by government and oil company 300 observers present. [Nuclear Physicist Dr. Edward TELLER - says no danger from radioactivity. Danger in sulfur dioxide released from burning fuels. We'll live in healthier world if it works.] Temporary evacuations and roadblocks until blast occurs. Opposition tries to stop it. AEC and United States Public Health Service to monitor blast and measure fallout. Earthquakes and polluted water foreseen.
