(Iowa Jima, Japan) 3 dozen Marines and families return for ceremonies commemorating battle there; Japanese survivors of battle also came; 2 sides met each other; shook hands; former enemies now friends.

(Munich, Germany) Someone set fire to Jewish Community Center in Munich, 7 killed and 9 injured; almost all had been survivors of Nazi concentration camps; was trauma for West Germany; 1st. act against Jews since war.
