(Homestead, Florida) [Florida Game Commission spokesperson Lou GAINEY - says deer suffering nutritional problems.] Fawns can't survive rising water. [Flood Control Bd. member Major General H. J. SANDS - says won't be diverted by pressure groups.] [Flood Control Bd. member John DUPUIS, JR. - says situation must be viewed in long run.] [SANDS - says high water level people problem.] Deer herd decrd. from 1,500-500; flood caused by dikes protecting pop areas; flood control versus saving animals.
