(Studio) Jimmy Carter campaigns in Alabama, as first of 12 states he'll visit this week.
REPORTER: Harry Reasoner

(Oklahoma City, Oklahoma) Carter met by Governor George Wallace; speaks to meeting of small businessmen and says Ford administration doesn't care about them and he does. Drama of day centered on meeting of Carter and Wallace. [WALLACE - says all present have dreamed of having deep Southerner nominated as Democratic presidential candidate.] [CARTER - says other Southerners, like Thomas Jefferson and George Washington, have done well as President in past and it's time for another one.] Poll results on Carter support in South noted. Carter goes to Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; gets on bus with wheat farmers and bus hits wing of press plane.
