(Studio) Secretary of State William P. Rogers and Israeli For. Min. Abba Eban meet.
REPORTER: John Chancellor

(NYC) Eban and Rogers critical of USSR -Egypt agreement on more arms for Arabs. [EBAN - says matter more urgent.] [ROGERS - deplores USSR strengthening military power of Egypt; must see military balance in Middle E. unchanged.] Rogers indicates United States will supply Israel with more phantom jets if arms shipped to Egypt. Eban says if Israel doesn't get jets, no more talk of re-opening Suez Canal, as point of interim peace agreement.
