(Studio) Busing becomes volatile political issue. National Action Group (NAG) formed to fight busing. Group begins boycott.

(Pontiac, Michigan) Boycott drive only effective in Pontiac. Black students show up, but white turnout low. NAG protests for safety of schools. [School Supt. Dr. Dana WHITMER - says more police in schools not justified.] Whitmer says violent incidents decrd. and those participating disciplined.
