(Studio) Interstate Commerce Commission lists particulars against bankrupt Penn Central. Merger of Pennsylvania RR and New York Central said chaos. Amtrak also in trouble.

(S. California) Amtrak goal is better service, not enough passengers. [Amtrak pres. Roger LEWIS - says cost twice the revenue.] June, 1973, deadline set by Congress for Amtrak to do well. Problems cited. Broadway Limited featured. Employees promote Amtrak. [PASSENGERS - comment re: improvements.] Food good, prices reasonable but train slow. Auto biggest competitor. Success of Amtrak doubtful.
