(Studio) President Ford to open campaign next week; day's activities noted. Senator Dole campaigning for Republicans today.

Later answers questions with regard to alleged illegal corporate contributions from Gulf Oil lobbyist Claude Wild during 1974 senate campaign. [DOLE - says he discussed matter with President before picked as running mate. In DC, Wild won't comment on Dole's 1974 campaign but says Dole accepted legal contribution in 1970. (Interview by Brit Hume.) [WILD - says money distributed to at least 2 senate candidates by Dole.] Dole denies recing. check. [DOLE - says he didn't get money and didn't transfer it.] Dole and wife release financial statement; details noted.
