(DC) Ford criticizes Carter statements with regard to FBI Director Clarence Kelley. [FORD - is confused and disappointed by Carter statements.] Says he kept Kelley because Kelley was cleared of wrongdoing by Justice Department investigation. Ford also comments on abortion issue. [FORD - says his and Carter's positions not same; his is that of Republican platform.] Ford had said in magazine interview amendment with regard to abortion not practical solution; Republican platform supports it. Ford's statement today probably attempt to win Catholic support from Democrats
