(Studio) Possibility of Strategic Arms Limitation Talks (SALT) agreement looks closer.

(DC) USSR foreign minister Gromyko brought fndtn. for breakthru to meeting with President Carter 2 weeks ago; told Carter that Brezhnev is willing to consider United States formula that would reduce number of ICBM's USSR has. Details of formula noted. United States and USSR representatives now work out exact formula. Already there are signs of discontent in Congress; White House asks complaints be stopped until final agreement is seen.
