(Studio) Racism still a problem in American life.
REPORTER: Garrick Utley
(Chicago, Illinois) White neighborhood of Gage Park being invaded by blacks. After boundary change in area, many children in Gage Park black. white parents protest "overcrowding" in school and demand boundary change which would eliminate blacks. School board turns them down; and parents boycott schools when children return to high school, fighting breaks out between races. Several injured, 30 arrested, school closed. School scheduled to reopen tomorrow. If students are left alone, many feel they can solve the problem by themselves.
