(Studio) Argument over evolution hot issue in California public schools.
REPORTER: John Chancellor
(Sacramento, California) Some religious leaders want science text books to say man created by God. [Episcopalian Reverend Julian BARTLETT - says no material not resting on scientific knowledge appropriate for schools.] [Loma Linda University Dr. Ariel ROTH - says books should include all theories of origin of man.] Board of Education recommends that books not mention God theory, but say evolution not only theory of creation. Science teachers object.
