(Berlin, West Germany) 1000's visit in E. Berlin. Most bring gifts, due to scarcity of fruits, good clothing in East Germany. Berlin Agreement credited. (E. Berlin) Christmas market featured. Unusual gaiety in E. Berlin, usually drab. (W. Berlin) Candles burned in sympathy for E. Berliners for some years. Candles now for decorations. Cold war tension thaws.
