(Studio) Despite new enemy offensive, United States forces still leaving South Vietnam. Fort Campbell welcomes home 101st Airborne Div.

(Fort Campbell, Kentucky) Nixon administration had planned to use return of 101st to point out success of Vietnamization, with appearance by President Nixon. Current enemy offensive caused ceremony to be downgraded. [VP Spiro T. AGNEW - praises heroism of returning vets, and pledges continuing support of South Vietnam despite portrayal of United States role there as great and costly mistake. Calls effort a worthwhile and moral accomplishment.]
