(Studio) United States Navy issues warnings to all international ships that mine fields around 7 North Vietnam ports will be activated Thursday at 6:00 p.m. Vietnam time (6:00 a.m. EDT). Ports effected are: Cam Pha, Hon Gai, Thanh Hoa, Vinh, Quang Khe, Dong Hoi, and Haiphong. Main one is Haiphong. 36 merchant ships now in Haiphong Harbor. Hanoi radio claims 2 United States destroyers shelled Haiphong. Communist China charges United States planes and ships attacked Chinese vessels off North Vietnam Coast. United States planes bomb North Vietnam roads and railroad to China.
