(Studio) In North Ireland, cease-fire proclaimed by militant wing of IRA, 1 day old. Militant Protestant leader William Craig vows continued violence.

(Belfast, North Ireland) Before cease-fire effected, IRA (Irish Republican Army) puts out last show of force with bombings, sniper fire. After midnight cease-fire, violence tapers off. [IRA officer Tony BRENNAN - willing to give British Army chance to show they've had a change of heart.]
