(Newark, New Jersey) Neither McGovern nor Humphrey campaigned much In New Jersey. Humphrey there in May, greeted by youthful McGovern supporters chanting "Dump the Hump." Humphrey workers are from organized labor and old-line New Jersey political machines. McGovern supporters, anti-war liberals and Democrat reformers, staff 70 store front campaign offices. Representative Shirley Chisholm campaigned here extensively.
