(Studio) Defense Department cancels Cheyenne helicopter being built by Lockheed.

(California) 10 copters built at cost of $400 million. Many technical problems encountered, but Lockheed says all bugs have been worked out. [Film of copter shown.] (Van Nuys, California) Some of 600 Lockheed workers on project may be laid off. [Lockheed Vice President Lawrence SMITH - says requirements for aircraft have been met.] Lockheed will bid on new light copter.
