(Studio) Democrat President nomination, Senator George McGovern, holds 1st strategy session with new running mate Sargent Shriver. Democrats want to forget Thomas Eagleton affair and get on with campaign.
REPORTER: Garrick Utley

(Rockville, MD) Shriver and family live on big country estate close to DC. Today it looks like a campaign center as Shriver lunches with McGovern aides. Shriver is former head of Peace Corps and War on Poverty. [SHRIVER - describes receiving news of his selection. Says he can think of nothing in his past which could hurt the party Says he has had good health. Wants the nation to return to the wonderful land it can be, and anxiously accepts Vice President bid.] Chicago, Illinois, Mayor Richard Daley calls Shriver to congratulate him, and says he will now work for ticket.
