(Studio) Senator George McGovern says if elected President he will scrap wage and price controls, replace them with voluntary guidelines. President Econ. Herbert Stein says that policy caused inflation.

(Portland, HO) Senator Edmund Muskie campaigns with McGovern. [McGOVERN - says he would establish board to marshal public opinion against excessive wage, price hikes.]

(Studio) McGovern has enjoyed remarkably large crowds during recent campaigning. Senator Edward Kennedy attracted some, but most seemed to be genuinely for McGovern.
