(Studio) Investigation of unauthorized bombings of North Vietnam by United States planes continues. Bombings ordered by retired General John Lavelle. General John Ryan testifies.

(DC) General Ryan relieved General Lavelle of 4-star command, after air strikes. Committee wanted to know why Ryan did not know of them before they came to light. [Film of Ryan with Senator John Stennis shown.] Ryan testimony reviewed. [Senator STENNIS - says difficult to understand why Ryan did not know.] Committee hearings break briefly, for Congress review of testimony. Ryan said he could not guarantee it would not all happen again. This statement said disturbing.
