(Studio) In Alaska conservationists fight oil pipeline. Delay construction starts.

(Prudhoe Bay, AK) Oil discovered 5 years ago, but no way to get it to lower 48 states. Pipe to end at mountain near Valdez. Pipe piled up, waiting. Valdez also waits boomtown prospects. Int. Department OK'd pipeline through mtns., but conservationists continue court fight. Wilderness damage feared. Oil spills feared. Doubts increase that pipe will be used here. Canada pipe route favored. Alaska to raise right-of-way charge. Oil companies object; go to court More delay caused.
