(Studio) Navy F-14 plane in trouble because of cost overruns.
REPORTER: John Chancellor
(Point Magu, California) Grumman having cost overruns. Says if held to initial contract will go bankrupt. [Senator William PROXMIRE - says plane too costly and is not improvement over planes Navy already has.] [F-14 project ofr. Captain C. H. HUOMELA - says F-14 superior plane.] Navy wants 300 F-14's. Cost is over $5 billion.
