(Studio) Midwest struck by severe snowstorms.
REPORTER: John Chancellor
(Des Moines, Iowa) High winds blow snow into deep drifts in Iowa. All highways closed. Motorists stranded. At least 13 dead due to storm. Livestock losses heavy. Businesses closed.
(Madison, WI) Highways closed over 2/3 WI. 5 deaths attributed to snowstorm. Airports, industry, schools, etc., closed. When snow melts will add more flood water to swollen Mississippi River.
