(Studio) G. Gordon Liddy given 1 1/2 years for contempt by Judge John Sirica for refusal to testify about Watergate bugging.

(DC) [Senator Lowell WEICKER - says if President aide H. R. Haldeman won't testify to Senate investigating committee he should resign.] [Senator Howard BAKER - says still hopes Nixon will have aides testify to committee ] Baker indicates to Nixon through Senator Hugh Scott that he feels Nixon will lose in showdown over having aides testify. Future Senate investigating committee hearings will be public.
