(Studio) President Carter's refusal of Defense Department request for funds to develop MX missile system more quickly reported, along with possible effects on US-USSR missile rivalry.

(DC) Details of proposed missile development, to replace Minuteman missiles now in use, and impact of program's fate on US-USSR defense standings described. Congress must agree with Carter in order to stop program. Defense Department film shown. Funds for MX noted as part of those for NATO. Carter's European tour later in week mentioned.
