(Studio) Former Nixon attorney Herbert Kalmbach appears before Senate Watergate committee Kalmbach admits raising and distributing money for Watergate defendants on orders from John Ehrlichman and John Dean. Worried about secrecy so met with Ehrlichman to get reassurance.

To go ahead with plan., On secrecy, Ehrlichman said press would misinterpret Watergate defendant money.] [Cnsl. Sam DASH - asks if Kalmbach thought Ehrlichman action peculiar.] [KALMBACH - replies no because misinterpretation of funds for defendants would endanger many in White House] [DASH - asks how providing funds to defendants to be misunderstood.] [KALMBACH - states money used to supply lawyers and support families for Watergate defendants. Wasn't hush money.]
