(Studio) Senate Watergate committee probes use by White House of CIA and FBI for own purposes. CIA deputy director Vernon Walters tells of meeting with Press' assistant H.R. Haldeman and former CIA chief Richard Helms. Walters says Haldeman wanted CIA to stop FBI from probing into Watergate money in Mexico. Haldeman testified no mention of Mexican question brought up at meeting

(Capitol Hill) [WALTERS - states Haldeman alluded to Watergate and possible CIA involvement. Walters says Helms assured Haldeman no involvement existed. Helms told Haldeman that no FBI probe into Mexico would uncover secret CIA projects. Haldeman told Helms that Walters would speak to FBI acting director Patrick Gray to stop further probe.] [Senator Edward GURNEY - asks if Helms and Walters discussed meeting with regard to Haldeman's orders to send Walters to Gray.] [WALTERS - states they thought Haldeman's information private and couldn't be discussed.] [GURNEY - questions if Walters and Helms asked Haldeman about private orders.] [WALTERS - replies no.]

(Studio) Former acting director Patrick Gray says he was confused by White House and CIA. Asked campaign director Clark MacGregor to have President call Gray.

(Capitol Hill) [GRAY - says he told President that he and Walters believed staff members out to wound President mortally. Says FBI and CIA used by staff members to confuse Watergate issue. President told Gray to continue thorough investigation.]
