(Studio) Soviet foreign minister Andrei Gromyko meets in Damascus, Syria, with President Assad. Gromyko may be pressuring Syria for disengagement.

(Occupied Syria) Syria anxious for Israelis to withdraw from such close range to Damascus; Israel also ready to disengage to allow more soldiers to go home. Israel wants to create DMZ (demilitarized zone) zone between Syria and Israel.
