(Studio) Secretary Army Howard Callaway reduces sentence of Army Lieutenant William Calley for his part in 1968 My Lai, South Vietnam, massacre. Calley thought he was following order, didn't know he could refuse illegal order. Photo of massacre shown. In Mar., 1971, Calley found guilty of premeditated murder of 22 persons, given life at hard labor. Sentence reduced twice. Eligible for parole in 6 mos. Calley has lived mostly in bachelor qtrs. in Fort Benning, Georgia, since 1971.
