(Studio) Trip to Bureau of Engraving and Printing to ask about $2 bills noted.
REPORTER: Harry Reasoner

(DC) Optimism with regard to new bills of Gerald Ford and William Simon cited. Song came out about bills; neither did well. (Song played.) [Bureau director James CONLON - says average citizens like bill, but government has to get to merchants.] Reasons bill doesn't work cited. Conlon says it has worked in Canada. [CONLON - says it won't work till merchants ask banks for bills. Doesn't believe people now believe bill is bad luck.]
