(Studio) Nixon cuts down on inflation by Job Corps cuts, reducing enrollment and eliminating 59 ctrs. House Education and Labor Committee opens hearings to fight cuts.

(DC) Harris poll shows annual earnings lower of men before entering Job Corps than earnings after program. Pollster Louis Harris says program has been effective. [HARRIS - says can't tell if program worth cost re: human output.] [Representative Carl PERKINS - says can't let Job Corps be destroyed.] Job Corps head William P. Kelly asks to be excused from hearings. Intends to resign.
