(Studio) 2 convicts hold 7 hostages in Washington, DC federal cthse. NBC News reporter Jim Vance called into negotiations between police and prisoners at request of convicts.

(DC) Convicts identified as Robert Jones and Frank Gorham; demands reviewed. [Hostage Debbie COLLINS - says convicts seem fidgety. Wishes prisoners demands would be met.] [Sister of Gorham, Miss Edna GORHAM - believes demands should be met or brother will react.]
