(Studio) Milk and dairy prices to go up soon as government to begin paying higher support prices.
REPORTER: Barbara Walters

(DC) Agriculture Secretary Robert Bergland lists reasons for higher supports as due to drought and eventual higher prices if dairymen sell herds and milk shortage created. [BERGLAND - says more taken to keep milk supply in good shape.] Bergland at 1st says retail milk prices won't be noticeably incrd., but Agriculture Department chief dairy economy Sidney Cohen says otherwise. [BERGLAND - hopes present action will forestall bigger increase next year] Govt. concern with regard to support increase noted; during campaign, Carter told WI voters he would have signed milk support increase which Gerald Ford vetoed; Bergland says this was factor in decision.
