REPORTER: John Chancellor
(DC) 1st evaluation of drought effects. [Econ. Dawson AHALT - says crop production to decline 7% from 1973. Means 1975 food price rise.] Figures gathered August 1. Corn crop to be 12% below last year Soybeans down 16%. Wheat up 8%. To handicap inflation fight by spending more for disaster relief and food prices to go up more.
