(Studio) United Nations Secretary General Kurt Waldheim brings together Greek and Turkish leaders on Cyprus.

(Nicosia, Cyprus) Waldheim meets with Glafkos Clerides and discusses Soviet idea of United Nations Security Council entering Cyprus peace talks. Turkish Vice President Rauf Denktash rejects Soviet proposal, calling it unnecessary. 3 met at United Nations barracks to discuss refugee problems. 2 leaders agree to weekly mtgs.

(DC) Career diplomat, William Crawford, sworn in by Dep. Secretary of State Robert Ingersoll. United States wants to show it doesn't blame Cyprus for Davies' death. American rebuffs Soviet-proposed international conference United States wants to keep USSR out, of talks. Thought Greece agreed to plan to force Turkey to make concessions.
