(Studio) Although reports not confirmed, President supposedly will announce his resignation this evening at 9:00 p.m. EDT. President has long talk with Vice President Gerald Ford this a.m. [Technical difficulties.] President also meets with Secretary of State Henry Kissinger.

(White House) [Press Secretary Ron ZIEGLER - says President to meet various mbrs. of bipartisan leadership early in evening. At 9:00 p.m. President will address nation.] Chief of staff Alexander Haig, Kissinger, personal secretary Rose Mary Woods and attorney James Saint Clair seen on White House lawn later in afternoon. According to sources, President' entire family to accompany him to California tomorrow. President doesn't ignore official business; President nominates 3 federal judges and vetoes agriculture appropriations bill.
