(Studio) Labor Department reports almost 300,000 more people getting jobless benefits for week ending February 27. In some places, benefits run out for jobless workers.

(Detroit, Michigan) Unemployment rate 20%. For first time, over 5000 people will soon exhaust all their benefits. George Canady among those; he hasn't had job in 14 months. [CANADY - says he's had every odd job possible to help meet his expenses.] Canady picks up last unemployment check today.
