(Studio) American State Department officials forced to pull together rescue operation on very short notice because of deteriorating situation in South Vietnam.

(DC) Disaster center for South Vietnam set up in State Department to handle 1 1/2-2 million refugees in South Vietnam. 18 United States ships involved in rescue operations. [Disaster relief coordinator Daniel PARKER - doesn't expect evacuation in other cities to turn out like Danang evacuation.] Enough money available to continue emergency relief for 6-8 weeks
