(Studio) FDA (Food and Drug Administration) to require labelling of cans using fluorocarbons, beginning in November Fluorocarbon damage to ozone noted. Govt. plans eventually to ban use.

(NYC) 1st phase of ban with regard to use of fluorocarbons in spray cans; many mfrs. have already begun using alternate methods in spraying. 2nd phase with regard to ban on use in refrigerators and air conditioning. There hasn't been substitute for these 2 found yet; DuPont says it will take 5-10 years to fully develop and test new refrigerants. [Air Conditioning and Refrigerator Institution president G.R.
