(Studio) David Brinkley discusses unexpected United States reaction to South Vietnam refugees.
REPORTER: John Chancellor
(DC) Opposition to South Vietnam refugees coming to United States substantial. Senator McGovern suggests 90% of refugees be given free rides back home. Senator Jacob Javits says his parents were immigrants; finds attitude appalling. American people suspect refugees to turn into social and welfare problem; many want to put all thoughts of Vietnam in past; resettlement would just dredge up old memories.
