(Studio) House takes up strip-mining bill that would require land restored to original condition after coal taken out. Some feel such law not needed.

(Sheridan, Wyoming) Wyoming has strict state strip-mine laws, with regard to reclamation of areas such as powder River Basin. [State engineer Doyl FRITZ - says state would get no benefits from federal bill; that own controls are adequate.] 1 objection is question of 1 law governing areas as different as West Virginia and Wyoming. [Assistant mine superintendent Bill ROSENWARNE - notes differences in needs of land; says federal law won't help.]
