(Studio) Report on searching for causes of cancer.
REPORTER: John Chancellor

(Bethesda, Maryland) Researchers feel they can control cancer even if not determined how cells become cancerous. At National Institutes of Health, scientists feel answer may lie in viruses and immune system of body. Search on for cancer-causing virus. [Cancer specialist Dr. John MOLONEY - says tumors are virus induced in monkeys and test systems. Hard to believe human tumors not virus induced.] Doctors test drug "BCG" to see if immune system can be stimulated to fight cancer. Film shows immune system at work.
